Planet Baobab Lodge
Ideally located to see the Makgadikgadi Salt Pans
Lodges
Planet Baobab is ideally located between Maun and Francistown or Kasane and offers an affordable solution for guests who wish to experience the Makgadikgadi. The lodge has 18 en-suite huts, decorated in a traditional african style as well as a number of campsites which have shared ablution facilities. The main area has a quirky bar, restaurant and lovely swimming pool. They offer an extensive activity program including quadbiking on the saltpans, overnight trips, meerkat visits, cultural experiences and walks to the nearby baobab tree forest. Do note that not all activities take place year round due to the pans collecting water, therefore quadbiking and overnight trips onto the salt pans only take place in the dry season between May/June - October. Traditionally the lodge is accessed by self-drive, no 4x4 is necessary however fly-ins are accepted on a request basis. The nearest international airports are Maun (MUB) and Kasane (BBK).
