The Khama Rhino Sanctuary is located approximately 25km north of Serowe and assists in saving the endangered rhinoceros. It is a community based wildlife project which covers an area of approximately 8585 hectares and provides a sanctuary to a number of animal species including both black and white rhino.
The Sanctuary offers guests the opportunity to see the various species during their stay and have a variety of rustic accommodation options including chalets, dormitories and campsites. During your visit you can chose to either self-drive on the well maintained road network and explore the sanctuary yourself (no 2x4 with higher ground clearance ok). Additional guided activities are on offer such as rhino tracking, game drives and guided walks. Access to the camp is mainly via vehicle since the airport in Serowe closed. The nearest international airport is located in Gaborone (GBE).
