Kalahari Plains Camp is one of only two camps located inside the Central Kalahari Game Reserve. The camp is located next the 'Big Pan' and is surrounded by open grasslands as well as Acacia forrest offering a classical Kalahari experience. The camp has 8 rooms which includes one family unit, each room is en-suite with a private viewing deck and the option of a starbed on the roof. The main area has a restaurant, lounge, library, curio shop, boma, stargazing deck and a saltwater swimming pool. Activities on offer are interpretive bushwalks providing insights into the San Bushmen culture, game drives and stargazing in the evenings. The best time to visit this area is after the first rains have fallen around January - April, which attracts a small migration of antelope which passes through the region with possible sightings of the black maned lion and cheetah. Access to the camp is by self-drive (4x4 experience required) or light aircraft transfer with the nearest international airport located in Maun (MUB).
