Camps
Jacana Camp is situated on a beautiful island in the midst of the Jao flats towards the south-west of the Okavango Delta. The island is surrounded by a number of palm-dotted islands and riverine forrest and the water holds relatively steady year round offering a classical Okavango feel. The lodge has 5 en-suite tented chalets elevated off the ground with a small verandah overlooking the floodplains. There is a lovely dining area and library, curio shop as well as a swimming pool with a view. The activities on offer are mostly waterbased including mokoro and short walks on the surrounding islands as well as boat cruises. Once the water levels drop (usually between September and April) the lodge also offers game drives on the nearby Jao Concession but this should not be relied upon. This destination is best for clients interested in experiencing the splendour of the Okavango Delta and those who have an interest in birding which is spectacular. Access to the camp is via light aircraft only with the nearest international airport located in Maun.
