Camping Delta Dawn campsite is located approximately 99km south of Shakawe, next to Nguma Island Lodge on the western edge of the Okavango Panhandle. There are a number of campsites shaded by indigenous trees which can be used for ground tents or roof top tents. In addition should you not have your own tent they also offer rustic tented accommodation, raised from the ground on a wooden platform, which includes all your linen except towels. The campsite has shared ablution blocks with hot and cold water as well as flush toilets. There is also a bar and restaurant, meals should ideally be requested in advance as to have sufficient stock available. Activities on offer include mokoro excursions, bush camping, boat and fishing tackle hire. This area is a great destination for birding and tiger fishing where other wildlife is not that prominent in the region. The last 12km of the drive to the lodge requires a 4x4 vehicle, alternatively you can leave your vehicle at a safe parking spot and arrange a transfer to the lodge at an additional fee.
