Pub Restaurants in Botswana

Pubs in Botswana are a distinctive mix of laid-back comfort and lively atmosphere, something you won't find just anywhere. If you’re in Gaborone, places like The Office or The Game on Kitsong Center Road aren’t just pubs , they’re where you catch live sports with locals, sample ice-cold St. Louis Lager, and maybe even grab a plate of boerewors. It’s common to hear Setswana music playing softly while friends gather after work, the chatter full of everyday stories and laughter.

Out in Maun or Kasane, pubs often take on a more vacation vibe, thanks to the tourists mingling with locals. You’ll find that the crowd here is a little different , maybe after a day in the Okavango Delta , but the beer’s just as cold and the service just as friendly. One insider tip: head to the local pubs just before sundown when happy hour starts and you can snag some great deals on drinks. Also, don’t be surprised if there’s a braai fire going somewhere close by , it’s a big part of social life here.

Even in smaller towns, pubs act as informal community hubs. They’re honest, unpretentious spots where you can chat with locals about everything from football to politics, and maybe get a taste of homemade chili or a local snack called vetkoek. So if you want to experience the real, everyday side of Botswana, a pub visit is highly recommended.
