Botswana
Lodges
Drotsky's Cabins is a long time favourite and one of the first lodges to open in Botswana approximately 30 years ago. Founders and Owners Jan and Eileen Drotsky still run the cabins today in this beautiful location along the Okavango panhandle. The accommodation offers 10 en-suite wooden chalets overlooking a large lawn area that borders the Okavango river. Each room has air-condition, mosquito nets, television as well as tea and coffee making facilities. Facilities include a lounge and bar, Wi-fi in the main area as well as a large crystal blue swimming pool. Activities on offer are boat cruises, hiring the boat by the hour and is an ideal destination for birding as well as fishing. A seperate campsite with it's own main area is located a short drive down the road with 20 shaded campsites on offer. The camp is accessible by vehicle, no 4x4 is required but a higher ground clearance is recommended for the short drive to the lodge. If you chose to fly to this area the nearest local airstrip is Shakawe, transfers can be arranged with the lodge. The nearest international airport is Maun (MUB).
