The Okavango Delta Music Festival takes place on a beautiful ancient island, surrounded by floodplains. It is situated near a community called Tsutsubega, and proceeds from the festival will go towards helping alleviate poverty within this community through employment, providing permanent drinking water and various initiatives aimed at training the community members in various skills.
It isn’t that hard to reach the Festival Island – the closest town and airport is in Maun, in the north of Botswana.
