Event Details

The Nedbank Tour de Tuli is an annual bike tour where you will be cycling in Botswana, South Africa and Zimbabwe. It is a charitable event contributing towards the Children in the Wilderness and Wilderness Wildlife Trust charity programs.

The Tour de Tuli is one of the few cycling events Botswana has to offer and has been running successfully for the past 14 years. The year 2019 will see the 4 day cycle race starting on 23 July with the start and end point at Mapungubwe National Park in the Limpopo Province, South Africa.

It is a fully organised event and to enter you pay a minimum sponsorship of ZAR24,900.00 per participant which includes your donation, single tented accommodation (dome tents), all meals from lunch on 23 July to breakfast on 28 July, a 20 minute sports massage, bicycle technician services and more. Pre and post accommodation is required dependent on where you are coming from or leaving to and can be taken as an opportunity to extend your program to include a safari.

You will need to arrange your arrival in advance as the procedures will vary dependent on your mode of transport. Your options are self-drive, taking a bus transfer from/to the Wilderness Safaris offices in Rivonia (Johannesburg) or traveling via charter airline. Detailed information about this can be found here.

This event is not only an adventure, experiencing some of the wildlife, scenery and culture of this region, it is hosted mainly as a charitable event to collect funds for the Children in the Wilderness program run by Wilderness Safaris. This serves to educate the underprivileged youth and has been created not only to educate the children about conservation, AIDS and necessary life skills, it is also designed to teach them about life and the opportunities it has to offer. The Children in the Wilderness program runs across a number of different countries including Botswana, Malawi, Namibia, South Africa, Zambia and Zimbabwe.

For a full list of inclusions and exclusions please get in touch with the host.

If you ever thought of taking part in a cycle safari, the Tour de Tuli is the way to go.
